Our first PopUp Gallery

What a great night we had at our PopUp Gallery!  I want to thank the Lombard Town Centre and Sarah Richardt for generously giving us the space for the gallery and all the artists that joined in the show.   We had 6 artist showing at the Jingle Bell Jubilee PopUp Gallery. Carolyn Dunn, Don Meyer, Bruce Schuurmann, Carol Gaus, Sharon Tinker and Sean McMenemy. We had a busy night during the events. We had interest from artists and patrons alike. All very happy to see Art making it way into the Lombard. The best thing about an event like this is we find out how many people live in our communities that are artists of some kind. Let’s face it creative people like hanging out with other creative people. We learned a lot about our first show so we hope our second one is even bigger with more activities and more artists! We especially want to thank Carolyn Dunn for bringing in her oils and working on her painting. The crowd really enjoy watching her process. She even made it into My Suburban Life! We even had a few sales of art which was fantastic.  If anything I hope that would encourage more artists to submit their work and “Be A Part Of Art” Carolyn Dunn, worked on one of her latest paintings while the crowds poured in. Bruce Schuurmann, displayed his photography of the area. He has created a very nice product line of greeting cards, photos and bookmarks. His work was a big hit as well. It was also a great first introduction to the general public.  We had art supporters and artist alike wanting to know more about what we are doing and how they can be a part of it.   So what’s next?  A LOT! More Events, Activities and Direction. Art Critiques Start again in January.  So get your art and get a thick skin. 3rd Thursdays are back! Start in January.  We’ll be talking and planing your year ahead.  We have a lot to plan so get in on the ground floor and lets’s build an art community in the Western Suburbs. Meet the Artist Night This will be your chance to meet the 14 different artists and everyone who’s been enjoying the work for the past couple months.  This time we’ll be doing a Saturday or Sunday this time so let...
