Meet the Artists in January

“Meet the Artists” Here’s the schedule for “Meet the Artists” event.   Jan 25th 3 to 5pm 100 W. St. Charles Road Lombard, IL 60148 If you’re showing art please bring cards or other contact information with you. If you can make it for the full 2 hours AWESOME! But we understand you might be working on your next big piece and you’ll be in a grove. Art Swap ( New Gallery going up on Feb 12th ) We’ll be doing the Art Swap on Feb 12th and installing a new gallery. Previous artists will be able to pick up your work. and hopefully bring something new. Let us know if you can’t make it that day so we can make special arrangements for delivery or pick up of your works. You can view our requirements here. Thanks to Don Meyer for the idea! This is our new artist cards that will be next to your art works. We hope this will give a consistent look and make it easy for people to see who to contact about the art. But please bring your cards. We have a special stands around the store for people to take your information. That Thursday night we’ll start around 5:30 so if you have new works you’d like to show or know other artists that would like to show please pass this information along. In March we’ll be announcing new requirements for the show. We’re still working out the details. We are also collecting works for our second venue at ClaSha Gift Boutique. They have requested bold, large art, and if it has a fashion theme that’s a bonus! They support artists and the selling of their works. Again all works subjects should be safe viewing in public venue. Our goal is to get at least 6 pieces to launch the second gallery! We are on our way to starting an art walk. Please forward this email to any artist you know that might like to show their works in either gallery....

Our first PopUp Gallery

What a great night we had at our PopUp Gallery!  I want to thank the Lombard Town Centre and Sarah Richardt for generously giving us the space for the gallery and all the artists that joined in the show.   We had 6 artist showing at the Jingle Bell Jubilee PopUp Gallery. Carolyn Dunn, Don Meyer, Bruce Schuurmann, Carol Gaus, Sharon Tinker and Sean McMenemy. We had a busy night during the events. We had interest from artists and patrons alike. All very happy to see Art making it way into the Lombard. The best thing about an event like this is we find out how many people live in our communities that are artists of some kind. Let’s face it creative people like hanging out with other creative people. We learned a lot about our first show so we hope our second one is even bigger with more activities and more artists! We especially want to thank Carolyn Dunn for bringing in her oils and working on her painting. The crowd really enjoy watching her process. She even made it into My Suburban Life! We even had a few sales of art which was fantastic.  If anything I hope that would encourage more artists to submit their work and “Be A Part Of Art” Carolyn Dunn, worked on one of her latest paintings while the crowds poured in. Bruce Schuurmann, displayed his photography of the area. He has created a very nice product line of greeting cards, photos and bookmarks. His work was a big hit as well. It was also a great first introduction to the general public.  We had art supporters and artist alike wanting to know more about what we are doing and how they can be a part of it.   So what’s next?  A LOT! More Events, Activities and Direction. Art Critiques Start again in January.  So get your art and get a thick skin. 3rd Thursdays are back! Start in January.  We’ll be talking and planing your year ahead.  We have a lot to plan so get in on the ground floor and lets’s build an art community in the Western Suburbs. Meet the Artist Night This will be your chance to meet the 14 different artists and everyone who’s been enjoying the work for the past couple months.  This time we’ll be doing a Saturday or Sunday this time so let...

Jingle Bell Jubilee Pop-Up Gallery

Jingle Bell Jubilee Pop-Up Gallery Hello All: We want to start by thanking you all for your participation and support in our endeavor to put our western suburb community on the “art” map. We are excited to announce that we are working with Lombard Town Centre and business owners to continue to build not only the artistic community but also build a bond with the general community. We hope to strengthen and bring these communities together through joint projects. Stay tuned for more details in the very near future. Now on to the details for the current event: Saturday, December 6, 2014 & Sunday, December 7, 2014 Jingle Bell Jubilee Pop-Up Gallery (Be sure to mark your calendars) We will be hosting this pop up gallery for two days and the hours will be as follows: Saturday, December 6, 2014: 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. ( Tentative ) Sunday, December 7, 2014: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ( Tentative ) We also plan to organize our schedule though Volunteer Spot Sign Up should be ready in a few Days.   We need volunteers to be present for both days and if you have work in the gallery you must contribute 2 hours onsite. You may want to do 2 hours at one time or 1 hour per day – the choice is yours. Ideally we would like to have a minimum of 3 people tending the gallery every hour of operation over the two days. Please advise of your availability via email to myself (Sharon Tinker) at studios630@gmail.com , and I will put a schedule together and send it to everyone. If your schedule will not permit you being present for 2 hours during the gallery being open then please consider using your two hours during set-up or tear-down. Gallery Submissions The theme of the Jubilee is “Winter Wonderland”. Now that being said, only works that will be displayed in the window must reflect this theme, works inside the space do not have to.
